Bleum's Software Development Process Assessed CMM Level 5, One of the Industry's Highest Quality Ratings
Achievement by Bleum’s Shanghai based International Development Center Demonstrates China's Ability to Provide World-Class Offshore Software Services to Multinational Corporations.
SHANGHAI, China – August 05, 2005
Bleum, one of China’s leading providers of
software development outsourcing services, announced today that its Shanghai development center has been successfully assessed CMM Level 5, the highest level in CMM quality assessment. CMM is an internationally recognized standard for measuring the maturity of an organization’s
offshore development processes and has become the primary benchmark multinational corporations use to judge offshore service providers’ abilities to deliver high quality software. Bleum is now one of only a few companies in China to be assessed Level 5.
“This achievement is really an exciting one, it proves that Bleum has joined the elite ranks of the world’s leading
software outsourcing service companies,” said Eric Rongley, Bleum CEO. “The CMM Level 5 certification has given an added boost to our quality commitment which we have always given to our customers. It emphasizes our efforts towards providing professional and world-class customer service. We believe quality is a continuous process and need to consistently set new benchmarks.”
The adoption of CMM by Indian service providers is what first gave multinational corporations the confidence to outsource software projects to India. Bleum’s accomplishment demonstrates China’s readiness as a primary destination for global companies to outsource the development of mission critical software applications. This milestone, combined with the recent No.1 outsourcing company ranking in China, clearly positions Bleum as China’s leading provider of offshore software services.
The Capability Maturity Model (CMM) was developed under the guidance of the Software Engineering Institute (SEI) of Carnegie Mellon University in the U.S (www.sei.cmu.org). It is organized into five maturity levels with Level 5 being the highest. By operating at this high a CMM level, customers’ benefit from Bleum’s ability to consistently deliver high quality software on schedule, which ultimately results in a lower total cost of software ownership due to less rework and easier maintenance.
