Measuring the Success of Testing Teams

When offshore testing was first implemented in India in the late 1990s, companies adopted different strategies of testing their products. Some organizations distributed smaller projects among different vendors. Other companies established a single offshore development center (ODC) to complete all of their testing work. Both strategies have their advantages. Spreading projects among vendors allows organizations to mitigate the risk of using one vendor. Developing a single ODC allows organizations to take advantage of a reduced learning curve for their testing teams on each subsequent project. This paper will focus on the metrics used to gage the success of a testing offshore development center (ODC) dedicated to one customer.
