Bleum Press Releases:
Shanghai, China, July 9, 2010—Amada America Inc., a leader in sheet metal fabrication equipment and software, has selected Bleum to build, maintain, test and support its CAD/CAM software used for operating its best-selling line of sheet metal manufacturing machinery. As part of the three-year contract, Bleum will establish a dedicated global delivery center and team at its Shanghai headquarters to support Amada.
“We chose Bleum because we wanted a strong application development partner that could help ensure our CAD/CAM software delivers a compelling competitive advantage to Amada and to our customers,” says Mike Guerin, chief executive of Amada America. “Bleum has an impressive record of helping drive improved performance and innovation for its clients.”
Bleum will be developing software for Amada America’s FabriWIN, the most widely used CAD/CAM package for sheet metal fabrication and the industry-leading solution for programming Punching, Laser, WaterJet, Plasma and Combination Punch Cut CNC machines. With more than 6,000 user licenses worldwide, FabriWIN is capable of reading all industry standard CAD files. FabriWIN eliminates time-consuming programming processes, optimizes material utilization, and generates programming code faster and more efficiently for all of the punching, cutting and combination machines. FabriWIN streamlines the design of manufacturing processes, maximizing the performance, productivity and profitability of fabrication operations.
“We are focused on helping Amada America strengthen its market position and capitalize on important advances, such as software as a service (Saas,) for its major products,” says Eric Rongley, Bleum founder and chief executive. “We are ramping up quickly, with an aim of achieving comparable productivity to Amada America’s software department while delivering measurably higher-quality software within our first year of business together.”
