Bleum Press Releases:
Shanghai, China, May 9, 2007-Bleum, a leading provider of offshore development center (ODC) services and Chair of the International Association of Outsourcing Professionals (IAOP) East China Chapter, recently hosted the IAOP East China Chapter 2007 Q1 Event on April 12 2007.
IAOP, with 40,000 corporate, professional, and associate members worldwide, is leading the effort to transform the world of business through outsourcing. As a leader in the software outsourcing industry, Bleum holds the chair of the IAOP East China Chapter and hosts chapter events quarterly.
The theme for this event was: "BPO (Business Process Outsourcing) in China." This segment of the outsourcing industry has undergone tremendous growth and attracted much attention worldwide. Leading off the discussion was Sridhar Vedala of Morgan Chambers, Europe's largest advisory firm on outsourcing. He provided an overview of the recent trends in BPO in China. Following Sridhar was Matthew Bruno, president of ResourcePro, an American BPO company operating in Qingdao, China.
"China has plenty of potential for offshore outsourcing. Its workers are well educated in basic computing and mathematics. They may lack creativity," says Bruno, "but they are disciplined and readily trained, making them better at tedious jobs than most Indians are. This suits the BPO business."
Bruno concluded his speech by: "On the whole CHINESE employees are much more stable than their American or Indian counterparts in the offshore outsourcing industry. But they still need to be challenged by creating opportunities through growth, employee directed projects and activities, corporate culture and atmosphere."
