Bruce Zhu, PhD.

CTO

Bleum, Inc

As CTO for Bleum, Bruce Zhu is responsible for shaping Bleum's future technical strategy, improving the company's technical capability, growing technical talent, elaborating Bleum's engineering processes, and supporting key customer engagements.

Prior to joining Bleum, Bruce was the Development Manager for IBM and the Chief Architect with HP's China Global Delivery Center, where he applied his skills in technology development, leveraging technology strategically, educational excellence, engineering processes and procedures and global delivery models working on a variety of complex projects serving clients across a broad range of industries including finance, telecommunications, and manufacturing. While at IBM and HP, he led teams assisting clients such as the Shanghai Stock Exchange, Hutchinson, Sanyo, Sony and Winbond. While at HP he led the solution packaging program for the HP Center where his leadership directly impacted the center's ability to reach CMM Level 3 and then CMMi Level 5. He also served as a program committee member for HP TechCon07 and as the co-chair of HP TechCon Asia06.

Previously, he was the Senior Technical Consultant of Navion Software Development Company, a subsidiary of Capital One, where he oversaw the technical aspect of key projects and led Navion's technical capability development. He initiated the collaboration with CapitalOne UK and established the software development process that ultimately led to the company's ability to achieve CMM Level 3.

By translating "Agile Modeling" into Chinese in 2002, he was among the first to introduce agile methodology to China. Since then, he has translated a number of additional books into Chinese about the distributed computing and software development process. He received his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Computer Science from the Xi'an Jiaotong University, and also holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Shanghai Jiaotong University.
