Shanghai, China, June 13, 2009 - Bleum, Inc., one of China's leading outsourcing providers to American and European companies, has named Patrick Rao, Quality Assurance Director, responsible for assuring high Quality of software services, delivery and operational excellence.
"Patrick is a welcome addition to Bleum's growing senior management team. He is a true expert in software quality assurance and will drive Bleum's delivery to new levels. Having played key roles in both large and small organizations he has extensive practical experience that compliments his deep knowledge of quality processes, metrics and CMMI." said Eric Rongley, CEO of Bleum, Inc. "Patrick comes on at an important time as Bleum seeks to maintain and even extend our quality of service during our current rapid growth . He will lead Bleum's efforts to renew its CMMI level 5 certification and tighten our processes so we can double the percentage of Bleum projects that complete with 0 defects."
Prior to joining Bleum, Patrick was the Head of Quality in Aztecsoft Limited and Senior Manager at IBM India, where he invested his expertise and knowledge in the field of process and Quality improvement. His contribution includes achieving CMMI Level 5 and taking the company beyond Level 5, optimizing several functions. His exercise in making the process light and at the same time tight laid a firm foundation for the process automation. While at Aztecsoft, Rao automated the project management processes. He instilled a Real-Time project performance system which supported taking corrective and preventive actions at the right time. He has actively participated in Six Sigma initiative at IBM India and mentored several Green Belt Projects.
Previously, he was a Process Consultant at CG Smith Software, Bangalore, an embedded automotive software product services company. He was mentored by the founder, George Smith, who built India's first CMMI Level 5 development center for Motorola in Bangalore India in 1995. Patrick was responsible achieving the highest process standards for the safety and mission critical software. He was the chairman of the process improvement forum and successfully implemented more than 500 process improvements in software engineering and operations.
Rao has been actively participating in various conferences and seminars. He has presented papers on 'Experimental Studies on Product Metrics in V&V Projects' at SEPG Conference 2002, Bangalore, 'Real-Time Project monitoring' at SEPG Conference 2007 Austin TX and 'Lifecycle Modeling' at SEPG conference 2007, Gold Coast Australia. Rao graduated in Mechanical Engineering from Bangalore university and did his masters in Software Systems from BITS Pilani, India.
