  • The Wild East No More-5 Leading Indicators of How China’s Intellectual Property Environment is Improving (2011)

In the last decade, China has made great strides to embrace intellectual property rights, norms and standards. This does not just include top-down legislation from Party officials, but also a broader grass-roots appreciation of IP from most Chinese citizens. Legal protection for foreign companies within China is at an all time high, and preferential treatment is being given to reward Chinese companies that adhere to IP law.

This paper will discuss 5 of the leading indicators that demonstrate how China is pragmatically developing its IP security infrastructure. It is intended to provide a practical perspective on the current state of IP protection in China.
